The public attitued survey was conducted in March 2014 and included over 2,000 adults aged between 16 and 75. Twenty Eight percent of people said they had sought help from a counsellor or psychotherapist, 7 percent more than when BACP last undertok this same survey in 2010.
Over 54% had seen a counsellor of psychotherapist or knew a family member, friend, or work colleauge who had.

EMOTIONAL OVEREATING NOT ADDRESSED BY HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
Emotional overeating is a major psychological problem that is often misunderstood by health professionals, a survey by the eating disorders charity B-eat has recently found.
Reasons given for overeating included feeling low, anxious, lonely, or because they couldn't cope with difficult feelings.
